Foundation In Malaysia, the head start of power are from coal, hydroelectric and gaseous petrol which contribute 27.01 billion ( kWh ) , 64.88 billion ( kWh ) and 22.22 billion ( kWh ) in 2009. Electric force ingestion in Malaysia which are 53.42 billion ( kWh ) in twelvemonth 2000 expanded essentially to 99.25 billion ( kWh ) in twelvemonth 2010. In add-on, H2O utilization per capita individual per twelvemonth which is 372,000 liters. As the ordinary house, power is provided by the nearby vitality supplier, Tenaga National Berhad ( TNB ) while the H2O administrations are given by the neighborhood supplier, Syabas ( Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor ) . Other than that, the Indah Water supplies the administration to clear out the contaminated defensively covered battle vehicle and the Alam Flora supplies the administration to move up the trash. The build of natural house is nil diverse with the ordinary customary house ; the solitary distinctive is natural house ‘s administrations. The natural house ‘s administrations are free, at the end of the day, it implies that the natural house can have their everyday lives without the help of second gatherings. To begin with, the sun oriented board will supplant the guide of TNB to back up the electric which required in the entire natural house. Other than that, as the mean precipitation is about 2400mm in Malaysia, it is workable for the natural house to use the H2O procuring framework and siphoning groundwater as H2O gracefully to move up H2O and capacity it. The clients can use the H2O for their everyday action. In addition, Septic defensively covered battle vehicle, sewerage channel, filtrating bowl, drain depression, tainted filter Fieldss and infiltrator chamber sewerage removal frameworks will other than be introduced at the subterranean house to treat the sewerage framework. Besides, the junk will either be isolated into reuse bit or Organic compost by making the supplement waste.By using the build of natural house, power and H2O ingestion will definitely decrease. The deny made other than will chop down. In any case, the central employment of the natural house is the structure cost, portion cost and care cost. Is that the expenses of developing a natural house are more costly than regular house? In future, will the consideration cost of natural house less expensive than ordinary house? Hence, this study includes looking at between ordinary houses and natural house that can examination which type lodging traditional house or natural house will progressively financial. Extent of Study The goal of this examination is to correlation the expense between the ordinary spot and natural spot with a similar unit by modifying the administrations. It is the clasp for us to loan something so as to proceed with our Earth. We ought to using characteristic asset which could be recovered on the other hand of terminating petroleum products and using normal lighting and works cluster of trees. Natural spot are developments which are eco amicable, solid productive ecological structure and proficient in rescuing assets. The parts non simply can be utilized right from the basement till the structure what's more deconstruction, they can be reused for the duration of the existence musicality of the building. Ensure condition, and non using modern or synthetic methods, cause less or no contamination are the chief point of these houses. In this structure the greater part of the stuffs utilized are essentially characteristic stuffs. Their structures are described by proficient bearing of H2O assets, using reusing of H2O procedures, meat uping of regular framework, expanded indoor ecological measure. At the point when we intend to manufacture a house we should accept of using plans and stuffs which does non sway the milieus. In footings of short-run thought, natural ecologically well disposed alternatives will quite be higher than ordinary assaults. Despite the fact that these building strategies cost from low to sensibly high fiscal incentive in long count they will distinctly be lesser if the focal points, for example, health work, natural agreeable advantages and a lot more are taken into history. They do non cognize that in long haul period green segment wage back is higher. Customary Home The customary spot framework is using second gatherings to back up their required. Customary house electric gracefully is from Tenaga National Berhad ( TNB ) . The neighborhood supplier for the H2O administrations is the Syabas ( Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor ) . The administration to clear out the tainted heavily clad battle vehicle is Indah Water and to move up the rubbish is Alam Flora. While using this all administrations, we have to pay the full open assistance company measure in consistently furthermore contaminated out condition. For Tenaga National Berhad ( TNB ) the month to month charge for local buyer will be RM 3.00. In any case, Indah Water has separate into four classs to pay the month to month measures. The minimal effort houses and specialists quarters in classs F, G, H, I for the month to month charge is RM 2.00. Other than this, houses in kampung, new modest communities and Estates which are having either single tainted heavily clad battle vehicle or associated shie lded battle vehicle administrations will hunker down RM3.00 every month. RM 6.00 will weigh down to premises and specialists quarters in classs A, B, C, D and E having Individual Septic Tank administrations and month to month RM8.00 will hunker down to premises and specialists quarters in classs A, B, C, D, and E which are having the Connected Sewerage Services. By using the all the framework that give by the specialists, we need to pay the open help partnership measure in consistently what's more cost costly if whole up all the open assistance organization measure. Electric System Flow improvement power coevals in Malaysia is administered by three open help partnerships which are Tenaga Nasional Berhad ( TNB ) in Peninsula Malaysia, Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd ( SESB ) in the State of Sabah and Sarawak Electricity flexibly Corporation ( SESCO ) in the State of Sarawak. These 3s open help partnerships are work autonomously of each other in their different control and directly non interconnected. What we do know is that MDMA is a natural atom, which empowers the particles of MDMA to hinder a portion of the synapses in the cerebrum. Let us investigate that science. The science of joy, which we will allude to as MDMA, has been examined, by researchers, since the late sixties and what they have revealed is fascinating. Researchers have discovered that, in general; MDMA starts with a natural root and finishes up being a possibly perilous medication, 3,4-methylenedioxy-n- methylamphetamine. MDMA is based from an oil called safrole, which is gotten from the sassafras root. Numerous pharmacologists what's more, unlawful makers have utilized safrole as a beginning material for some prescriptions and medications since it is without any problem available and economical. In this manner, it isn't unexpected this is the base for MDMA. Concerning most natural particles MDMA comprises of H (hydrogen), N (nitrogen), CH3 (a methyl gathering) and oxygen iotas, which winds up making C11H15NO2. All of these particles, including the base of the safrole, are natural which makes MDMA a natural particle. At the point when joined to make MDMA they act like an amphetamine (look practically indistinguishable from methamphetamine in there compound brake down) to the body with its hallucinogenic response, which is the reason MDMA is as a rule delegated an amphetamine. While analyzing the MDMA particles researchers found that the MDMA has two kinds of particles that

Benefits Of Depression By Nancy Andreasen - 844 Words

A much more positive way to see depression is to look at benefits of depression. Nancy Andreasen argues that depression is closely associated with a â€Å"cognitive style† that makes people more likely to produce successful works of art (Lehrer, Jonah). One of the most important qualities in the creative process is persistent and based on Iowa Writers’ Workshop, Andreasen found that â€Å"successful writers are like prizefighters who keep on getting hit but won’t go down. They’ll stick with it until it’s right† (Lehrer, Jonah). While depression is a burden, many forms of creativity benefit from the relentless focus it makes possible. In addition, there is the virtue of self-loathing, which is one of many symptoms of depression. One can see and hear and feel it in their work: the pain, the tumult, the heartache, the agony, the apathy. Another benefit includes mental and emotional clarity. When one has lived with a depressive mindset for almost all of his/her life, he/she learns that everything, without exception, carries some form of inherent value, and intrinsic beauty. As paradoxical as this may sound, depression can help a person understand that life is, indeed, too important to be taken seriously. Lara Honos, a clinical psychologist in San Francisco states, â€Å"the social withdrawal that comes with depression can help you change something in your life that’s broken—and once you’ve gone through it, you can be stronger and more resilient because of the experience† (Graves, Ginny). While medication, such as antidepressants, may forestall psychological suffering, it also may rob the brain’s ability to reconfigure pain into wisdom and grit—both of which will serve the depressed person well for the rest of his/her life. Mark Seery, PhD, lead author and assistant professor of psychology at the University of Buffalo claims, â€Å"Having to deal with challenges may toughen us up and leave us better equipped to deal with subsequent

Essay on Existential Philosphy - 1710 Words

Nihilism originated somewhere around the mid-1800s, it was a shift from the social philosophy around that time which viewed life with purpose and meaning which was found usually though God, or some religious doctrine, however Nihilism is the philosophy that dictates the meaninglessness in life; it leaves an empty and void existence. Nihilism is usually associated with German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche is often although not a Nihilist himself Nietzsche wrote a considerable amount concerning Nihilism and its implications as a philosophy. So Nihilism for me is ironically void of meaning to people who still live life with meaning though their subjective perspectives, and in turn for becomes a problematic philosophy because it does not convey utter meaninglessness to everyone as it suggests it should. With Nietzsche’s purposed problem of a chaotic and standstill meaningless world that he suggests Nihilism creates, is what existentialism answers, existentialist agree with the meaninglessness of the world that Nihilism suggests, however they differ in the sense that existentialism then argues that because live has no intrinsic meaning. Works across Countries like Timor-Leste †Myassignmenthelp.Com

Question: How to Works across Countries like Timor Leste? Answer: Introduction The report reflects on the organization SoftArc Engineering that works across countries like Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Australia as well as Papua New Guinea. The organization aims to close the data centre of Brisbane in order to move the data centre to Sydney rather replacing the older infrastructure. The organization also plans to move their Web Services to cloud infrastructure for enhancing both flexibility as well as availability of data. The assignment discusses cloud architecture that is employed for SoftArc Engineering, risks that are associated with hybrid cloud strategy and general information security steps as well as controls for securing hybrid cloud. The paper also elaborates the recommendations for the adoption of hybrid cloud strategy as well requirements that is required by the organization for server administration, resource management as well as SLA management. Description of the cloud architecture that is employed for assisting the SoftArc Engineering in order to meet the Boards Strategy SaaS (Software as a Service) is considered as the most appropriate cloud architecture that is employed by SoftArc Engineering for meeting the Boards strategy. Description of the architecture that is used along with the reason of deploying it Software as a Service is the model that is considered as the most appropriate cloud architecture for SoftArc Engineering. Software as a Service is defined as a software licensing as well as delivering model in which appropriate software is licensed on a proper subscription basis and it is centrally hosted(Dinh et al., 2013). The main reason behind the cloud architecture deployment is that SaaS architecture can be implemented in a much less time. The cloud service provider is very much responsible for both upgrading as well as maintaining the software as well as the system in order to main proper customization (Ercolani, 2013). SaaS model is also considered appropriate or the organization as it is very much flexible in meeting all the needs of the organization. It also is provided proper flexibility in order to integrate with different software interfaces. With the help of SaaS model, important information as well as data can be accessed from anywhere at any time. Benefits as well as issues which would be the result of the deployment of these architectures The benefits include: Less internal responsibility: The SaaS architecture is considered appropriate for the organization SoftArc Engineering as the cloud service provider helps in maintaining the software as well as assists in upgrading the system properly in order to maintain customization through proper upgrades (Almorsy, Grundy Muller, 2016). The SaaS architecture can be properly scaled ip and down in order to maintain various needs of the customer. Access: SaaS model only needs a browser as well as appropriate internet access for proper connection. This helps in making the access of both data as well as information easier (Sanaei et al., 2014). The challenges include: Security problems: One of the main challenges that SoftArc Engineering can face after adopting SaaS architecture is security problems. Proper privacy of the information as well as data is required. Performance: It is analyzed that an application, which is dependent on the browser and access with the help of appropriate internet connection is not as well as much advantageous as compared to other software that generally run on local machine (Wei et al., 2014). Description of the risks that are associated with new Hybrid Cloud Strategy along with possible control measures The risks as well as control measures that are associated with Hybrid Cloud architecture along with proper control measures include: Lack of proper data redundancy: It is analyzed that well-publicized outages helps in highlighting the risks, which are generally running the applications in a specific data centre (Almorsy, Grundy Muller, 2016). Solution: The problem can be resolved by implementing redundancy with the help of proper data centers with the help of single provider. Improper security management: Security control such as authorization, authentication as well as identity management requires both private as well as public cloud (Sanaei et al., 2014). Solution: For integrating the hybrid cloud, it is analyzed that there are two options, which include replicating control or keeping proper data synchronization, which helps in providing single service to the system. Poor Compliance: Hybrid cloud needs much more diligence in context to compliance (Wei et al., 2014). It is analyzed that maintenance as well as demonstration of compliance is very much difficult with the hybrid model. Solution: The clouds must helps in meeting proper industry standards for proper data security while handling proper sensitive data. Description of the general information security steps as well as controls that is recommended to the board for securing the Hybrid Cloud The general security steps include: Adequate security risk assessment: The problem can be resolved by utilizing proper rigorous risk prevention as well as assessment (Assunao et al., 2015). It can also provided with the help of log monitoring. This helps in mitigating the challenges that occur due to prevention of network administration from determining intrusion. Proper security Management: Proper security management is provided by replicating the control to both the clouds as well as by maintaining the in-house data storage for sensitive data (Tao et al., 2014). This helps in resolving the problems that arises due to improper security management. Proper data Redundancy: The redundancy must be implemented by using multiple data centers in order to resolve the risk that generally rises due to lack of redundancy (Toosi et al., 2014). It also helps in mitigating the proper that occurs due to outrage in one of the data centers. Recommendation for adoption in SoftArc Engineerings BCP because of their adoption of a Hybrid Cloud approach The recommendations for adoption of hybrid cloud approach include: Application of resilience: Application of resilience is the ability that helps in resuming normal execution after errors in various distributed environments. This feature is also absent in Web infrastructures. Backup: The data can be back up with the help of hybrid cloud strategy, which is considered as one of the main advantage (Avram, 2014). The organization can backup any data they they have deleted. The facility of backup data is very much advantageous. Disaster Recovery: With the adoption of hybrid cloud approach the organization can recover data very easily (Lian, Yen and Wang, 2014). Earlier with the help of web infrastructure, it is impossible for the organization to recover those data that they have lost. However, with the adoption of hybrid data they can recover each and every information. Discussion of the requirements that SoftArc Engineering needs to consider The requirements of SoftArc Engineering in order to conduct the following in context to PaaS and IaaS instances include: Remote Server administration: The requirements that are needed for conducting remote sensor administration include analyzing the system appropriate, proper understanding of system as well as proper administration (Botta et al., 2016). The remote server administration helps in setting up the system very fast, easier maintenance and it does not put much strain on budgets. The tool of remote sensor administration assists in managing features, roles as well as role services. Resource management: The requirements that the organization needs in order to consider the resource management in context to proposed IaaS and PaaS include ensuring proper availability of resources, optimizing time, effort as well as money, responding to the changes of the project and tracking resource utilization properly (Kern, 2014). Proper resource management with the help of proposed IaaS and PaaS include fast access to information, simple use experience as well as helps in providing current information to the SoftArc Engineering company. SLA management: The requirement that SoftArc Engineering have to consider while conducting service level agreement includes responsibilities of SP as well as customer, service pricing as well as discounting strategies, reporting to the customer, information about service description as well as Qos Commitments (Oliveira, Thomas Espadanal, 2014). It is analyzed that all this information are useful for conducting SLA management in the organization as it help in providing proper alignment between IT investments as well as business goals which is helpful in improving both revenues as well as profit margins. Move of SharePoint instance to AWS cloud Discussion of the steps that is included in the plan for migrating the services The steps that are required for migration of the SharePoint instance and the SQL server database to AWS cloud include: Proper plan for migration: Proper planning must be made before migrating both the SharePoint as well as SQL server (Botta et al., 2014). This includes defining scope of the project with proper timelines as well as resources. Creating proper information architecture plan: Proper information architecture plan must be created which includes appropriate features like customization, permission as well as taxonomy with other LOB applications. Understanding customization as well as integration: Customization as well as integration with other systems plays a great role in migrating the plan, as these are the two approaches that require much time as well as effort (Sultan, 2014). Creating migration test plan: Proper migration test plan must be created by incorporating the variables that include custom code, custom list templates, custom site templates, custom web parts as well as feature mapping. Migrating the Content: Both the SharePoint content as well as the content of the SQL server must be migrated as per the target as well as source. It is analyzed that the outputs as well as analysis and planning phase become inputs for the phase of migration execution (Avram, 2014). Microsoft Upgrade approach: This step helps in allowing the databases to be attached to a newly SharePoint for upgrading it in the new environment. Migration with the help of third party products: The organization needs freedom for migrating the content for migrating the content at a granular level (Lian, Yen and Wang, 2014). The migration approaches must investigate the possibility by utilizing third party for the SQL migration as well as SharePoint. Migration verification: Once migration is completed, then the migration procedure is verified with the content of the new environment.Discussion of the critical points as well as issues with explanation that can see occurring at each of the steps The issues include: Plan for migration: The identified task in the planning phase is analyzed for complexities as well as dependencies, which are mainly executed in the migration phase (Avram, 2014). This is considered as one of the important issue. Creating information architecture plan: Sometimes the information architecture plan is not planned properly and as a result, key areas are not handled properly. Understanding customization and integration: It is quite important to understand both integration as well as customization as it causes problems in transforming data during migration procedure. Creating migration test: If the test is not conducted properly then number of risks related with the new environment arises (Kern, 2014). It does not also allow individuals to test the migrated data before it is accepted as production data. Migrating content: If the content is not migrated properly, then it causes problems number of problems or risks which include rebranding, improper migration, inappropriate validation and more. Microsoft attaches upgrade approach: It raises problems, which leads to ineffective migration within that specific database (Botta et al., 2014). Migration verification: If the verification procedure is not conducted appropriately then it is very much difficult to migrate content in the new environment. Conclusion It can be concluded that implementation of cloud computing is very much advantageous for SoftArc Engineering company. Due to the adoption of cloud infrastructure, the organization is able to close the data centre of Brisbane rather replacing the older infrastructure. It also helps in enhancing both flexibility as well as availability of data within the organization. Euthanasia Essay Example

Euthanasia Essay Example Euthanasia Essay Euthanasia Essay Do we really have the right to our own life? Imagine a close relative of yours was slowly dying of cancer; every breath they took was Just as agonising as the last. They are confined to their soiled beds and held prisoner of their own internal anguish, unable to move and with no recognised medication or drug capable to numb the agonising pain associated with death. The family member explains that they are happiest when they are sleeping, proceeding to ask you to end their torment. What would you do? If you assisted the individual in hastening their death, you would be accountable for their murder, subsequently erving a prison sentence for the murder of your relative. What the relative wants you to commit is Euthanasia. Euthanasia is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as the painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease or in an irreversible coma. Many people, like any sensitive topic, draw conclusions about Euthanasia from sources and facts that are either Pro-Euthanasia or from the sources that are against Euthanasia. So tonight ladies and gentlemen, I will discuss the positives and negatives of this controversial taboo from a non-biased perspective and draw my onclusions as an aid so you can make the impartial decision for yourselves whether we should have the right to control our own very existence. As of 2011, active euthanasia is only legal in the three Benelux countries: the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. However topical the subject may be, it is still illegal in the United Kingdom. In the United Kingdom, in 1987 a survey suggested that 72% of the survey respondents were in favour of legalised euthanasia. Given this statistic, one would assume euthanasia would be a legal choice but as we know, its not. So why is it illegal? The heated debate is drawn between the warring social, religious and political groups. These groups argue that the fundamental issue of Euthanasia is its sheer margin for abuse. This abuse can be noted in the Netherlands. Where in 1990, 1030 Dutch patients were killed without their consent; more than 12% of these patients were mentally competent were not consulted on whether they would live or die. These deaths, of course, were essentially murder, since Euthanasia is legal in the Netherlands; these deaths went and will remain unpunished. The extent of abuse in the Dutch Euthanasia system also extends to the lethal injection of disabled newborn babies. Of course, babies are incapable of making a decision whether they want to live with their disabilities, yet 8% of all infant mortalities in Holland occur as a result of Euthanasia. It is apparent that we have to imagine a society where people live in constant fear for their lives, where we no longer attempt to accommodate peoples disabilities because the disabled are simply disposed of and where hospitals refuse to treat people for their illnesses, but kill hem instead because someone determines that their lives are not worth living. This is precisely what some pro-Euthanasia enthusiasts believe, that we should put an end to lives that are no longer worth living. So ladies and gentlemen let me ask you a simple question; what makes your lives worth living? Is it your Job? Your favourite football team? Or simply your children? However, what if an individual pleads that their demise be hastened? what if the form of Euthanasia is voluntary and the person insists that they are to perish? Then, I believe that this person should be Euthaised. In my opinion, I dont think that it is necessary to delve deep into the realms of every single positive that exists on the topic of Euthanasia. However, there is one main positive, the individual is finally happy, put out of their everlasting terror. They are finally allowed to die with dignity. You may think that there is no dignity in death. However, put yourself in their shoes. Unable to clean up your own excrement, unable to clean yourself, unable to feed yourself. Most importantly, in such a vulnerable state, that you are incapable of taking their OWN life.

Cisco Networking Assessment Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

Cisco Networking Assessment - Essay Example Error correction also includes the additional ability to reconstruct the original message, with error-free data. Two basic methods have been designed to handle the error correcting system. These are called the Automatic repeat-request (ARQ), and the Forward Error Correction (FEC). The ARQ sends that data with an error detection code, which the receiver user to check for errors. In the FEC method the transmitter includes an error-correcting code (ECC) and sends the coded message. The receiver never sends any data to the transmitter, it just decodes what it thinks is the most "likely" data. The Network Layer deals with errors via a variety of means (Wikipedea, 2008). These are to ensure the QOS is maintained. These can be items such as the Parity check, which means that if any bits are corrupted in the message, they are replaced to the expected format. A checksum, which involves an algorithm to check the validity of the data, Hash functions, which perform a similar function and repetition schemes. The full list of methods is stated here: The Transport Layer uses 2 two way error correction protocol, which involves a discussion between the sender and the receiver. This is where the receiver informs the transmitter to resend a message when an error occurs. ... Repetition schemes Parity schemes Checksum Cyclic redundancy checks Hamming distance based checks Hash function Cryptographic message digest Horizontal and vertical redundancy check Polarity schemes Transport Layer: The Transport Layer uses 2 two way error correction protocol, which involves a discussion between the sender and the receiver. This is where the receiver informs the transmitter to resend a message when an error occurs. The two basic types for each packet transferred are called a NACK (Not Acknowledged), when a failure occurs and an ACK (Acknowledged) when a packet has been successfully received. The way it does this is to check the header/footers of packets to see if it is in the format expected. This is usually achieved by CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) checksums which are calculated based on the data transmitted. Summary: Basically, the Network Layer function is to check the validity of the data at a lower level than the Transport Layer, and communicates the problem up the hierarchy. The Transport Layer in turn, informs the transmitter to resend the erroneous data. The Transport layer has other functions, such as allowing a mechanism where the receiver informs the transmitter what to send next and what is expected. Question 2 (5 marks) What are the different types of collisions that can occur on an Ethernet network Briefly explain each. There are the types of collision where two packets are sent over the network at the same time, and this is handled by the CSMA/CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access / Collision Detect) protocol and a 'Collision Domain'. A Collision Domain happens when two devices on the network transmit at the same time (The TCP/IP Guide, 2005). An Ethernet network can be composed of a single or a multiple

Madof’s Scandal Essay Example for Free

Madof’s Scandal Essay In the first two weeks of December 2008, the stressed that 70-year old businessman, Bernard Madoff is suffering becomes apparent to his employees, most particularly to his two sons. It concerns a $7 billion redemption request that Madoff had been ‘struggling to obtain the liquidity necessary to meet his obligation’. This made them approach him directly what the problem is all about. The answer is unexpected. Prior to this incident, Madoff is well known throughout the world of economics and investment as a genius and a trustworthy owner of Madoff Investment Securities LLC. The firm is generally a broker-dealer and investment advisor concerned with the management of investors’ assets, giving advice to investment management and is associated with some nonprofit organizations (Helyar et al. , 2009). At the age of 22, Bernard Lawrence Madoff managed to build his firm from his $5,000 savings. Since its first few years in the business, Madoff’s Securities reputation was tantamount to success. Madoff also served as chairman of the board of directors of the NASDQ Stock Market (Byrne et al. , 2005). Madoff confessed, according to Theodore Cacioppi (BackgroundNow. com 2008), that ‘There is no innocent explanation’ pertaining to the fraud that he committed. Cacioppi’s testimony also revealed that Madoff stated to his ‘senior employees’ that he is already ‘finished’ and the firm is actually ‘one giant Ponzi scheme’. The Hennessee Group, represented by Charles Gradante, had also been suspicious of the Madoff’s success when their reports showed that Madoff’s only had 5 months down in a span of 13 years despite several market fluctuations and economic changes. Helyar and colleagues (2009) reported that Madoff’s strategy of split-strike conversion turns out to be front-running. This strategy involves â€Å"brokers’ for their own account†. This is known to be illegal yet Mardoff’s investors didn’t care. Helyar and colleagues believes that investors are concerned about the money they get. In my opinion, Madoff’s scandal opens the public’s eyes to the fact that cheating is indeed prevalent in the American Society. Even successful people cheat and are cheated. The effect cripples the economy and results to distrust. New policies are being and will be initiated to avoid and detect possible frauds. When I heard about the scandal, the first thing that came to my mind was the quote ‘when everything is going your way, you’re probably in the wrong lane’. Taken literally this indicates driving at the other side of the road. Nonetheless, another interpretation reveals that ‘everything coming your way’ resembles things are being ‘too good to be true’ or turning out as you expected. In the case of Madoff’s investors, they looked at the facts; they listen to what former investors say and followed that path expecting the same returns. Despite the fact that Madoff’s offer and profiles seem ‘too good to be true’. They grabbed the chance and hope for the best. At the end, it is the ‘wrong lane’ after all. Madoff fraud strategy is well-known as ‘Ponzi scheme’. This type of fraud had been in the business industry for several decades yet people still fell for it. The good promises are simply too great to refuse. These same things eluded logical thinking and provoke greed. The scandal affects the investors and their reputation. It also raised doubts regarding implementation of laws and economic policies. It posed new challenges for proper investment management and questions the liability of security firms. Moreover, it is not simply an issue of crime or fraud; rather it undermines societal values and trends. References BackgroundNow. com. (2008). Bernard L. Maslows Hierarchy of Needs and Education Essay example -- Education E

Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and Education Walk through any school and one fact becomes strikingly clear, every student is different. Living conditions, health, and confidence are a few of the factors that vary dramatically from student to student. However, one commonality can be detected among all learners, they all have needs. Although many individuals might disagree on the importance of these needs, the needs themselves are apparent. One psychological theory, developed by Abraham Maslow, is that our needs can be arranged in â€Å"a hierarchy ascending from such basic physiological needs as hunger and thirst through safety and love needs to needs for esteem, and ultimately, self-actualization† (Mischel 211). Commonly known as Maslow’s hierachy of needs, this theory is based on the assumption that all people have the desire to maximize their potential and strive to do what they are capable of doing. Both maximizing potential and striving to find capability are important goals in education. In turn, if a student cannot sufficiently satisfy one of their needs in the Maslow’s hierarchy, they will never reach their full potential. In essence, educators must become familiar with Maslow’s hierarchy and be prepared to mold their classroom into an environment that allows students to fulfill their needs when other surroundings, such as homes or social settings, do not encourage or allow the satisfaction of needs. I, as a future educator, have developed methods and approaches for dealing with students who are deficient in areas of Maslow’s hierarchy. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs forms the shape of a triangle, with physiological needs placed at the bottom. Physiological needs include food, clothing, and sleep. Obviously, these ... ...needs are not being fulfilled. In essence, an educator will be more effective if they have an arsenal of approaches for dealing with students who are deficient in areas of Maslow’s triangle. Fast food †Ice cream Essay

Almost everyone enjoys to eating fast food because it is cheap. Many people these days prefer to eat food that makes their food fast and also they do not have to spend more than five dollars. This nation is surrounded with fast food restaurants and there is no one way people can miss one down their street and in every mall. I work at the mall and I tend to eat fast food since it is the only thing near me. My three favorite fast food restaurants which are Wendy’s, Dairy Queen and Steak –n- Shake. One of my favorite fast food restaurants is Wendy’s. When I was in high school at the beginning of my senior year I worked at Wendy’s and of course I ate their food since I had a fifty percent discount so the food was really cheap. I always craved the spicy chicken nuggets with sweet and sour dipping sauce. Ever since I worked there I know how each dipping sauce taste when I always ordered the spicy chicken nuggets. I love the honey, barbeque, honey mustard, ranch and of course my favorite sweet and sour sauce. I also loved how my manager prepared the sweet tea because it was not too sweet and actually tasted like homemade sweet tea. I am a fanatic of sweet tea and pretty much have tried it at every fast food restaurant I have eaten at. Also I love to enjoy my combos with a dessert. I usually get a small chocolate frosty. I love the taste of it because it reminds me of chocolate milk. Also because it is very creamy and sweet this is a great combination for dessert. These are all the many favorite things I love to eat at Wendy’s. My second favorite fast food restaurant is Dairy Queen. They have the best desserts there such as the blizzards, the sundaes, banana splits, their famous waffle cone ice creams and the DQ ice cream sandwich. I always tend to eat the ice cream cones because I do not have to spend that much money the cones cost one dollar depending on the size. When I am at my aunt apartments my cousins and I always walk to Dairy Queen since it is not too far from the apartment just three to five minutes walking. We go there every time when we are hungry or we just go there to talk and eat some food. It also provides free internet which is great to check Facebook or our emails. Also it has a great video game player for when we bring our little sister and cousins so they will not get bored. Another reason I love eating at dairy queen is their chili cheese fried burritos. They are so delicious and juicy especially when they put the chili all over it and sprinkle some shredded cheddar cheese. I love to eat at Dairy Queen. My third favorite fast food restaurant is Steak-n-Shake. I always wish Mesquite had one but they do not so I have to drive all the way to Rockwall to go to Steak-n-Shake which is 20 to 30 minutes from my home. I love it there especially there juicy Cheddar Cheese Steak Burger combo which is good money spent because it is only $4. 99. I love how the food is very affordable and of great quality. I also love to get their famous milkshakes. My all-time favorite is the chocolate chip cookie dough. It has chunks of cookie dough mixed with tasty creamy vanilla ice cream. This fast food restaurant is not like not ordinary fast food place because it provides waiters and it provides amazing fast food service. It usually takes 5 to 10 minutes to have my food ready which overall is great. I never get tired of going to Steak-n-Shake because of its great quality of food and service. Fast food may not be good for us at times but it is delicious. All three of these fast food restaurants Wendy’s, Dairy Queen, and Steak-n-Shake are my favorite because reasons I enjoy eating their food. They all provide great quality of food, fast service and cheap prices. I enjoy these fast food restaurants.

The Great Gatsby By F. Scott Fitzgerald Essay - 983 Words

The 1920’s embodied a people who strove for wealth with complete disregard to the moral disgraces committed in the process of becoming rich. F. Scott Fitzgerald, the author of The Great Gatsby portrays the general feeling of the 1920’s through complex characters such as Jay Gatsby, Tom and Daisy Buchanan, and Nick Carraway. Fitzgerald uses symbols such as the billboard, the green light, and the valley of ashes to convey themes and propel the plot forward. T.J Eckleburg’s giant eyed billboard is an essential symbol in The Great Gatsby. Eckleburg’s watchful eyes are a representation of God that observe the people who live in East and West Egg and the valley of ashes. They convey themes like; even when a person perceives himself to be alone, someone is always silently watching. â€Å"The eyes of Dr. T. J. Eckleburg are blue and gigantic-their retinas are one yard high†¦. But his eyes, dimmed a little by many paintless days under the sun and rain, brood on over the solemn dumping ground† (Fitzgerald 27). In chapter seven, Tom, Nick, Gatsby, Daisy, and Jordan decide to go into the city on a hot day. On their way they stop at Wilson’s garage to get fuel. In the same day, Tom and George Wilson both discovered that their wives are having affairs with other men which creates tension between the characters.
